Shri Tejas Deshpande, Advocate for respondent. CORAM : A. S. CHANDURKAR AND VINAY JOSHI, JJ. DATE : FEBRUARY 25, 2020 The petitioner seeks release of terminal benefits that were admissible on account of service rendered by his mother who died in harness on 21/07/2016.

After the notice was issued in the writ petition, the Chief Officer of the Municipal Council has filed affidavit dated 17/02/2020 in which it has been stated that the total amount payable to the petitioner is Rs.7,09,040/-. Amount of Rs.4,20,000/- has been paid and balance amount payable is Rs.2,89,040/-. It is further stated that the balance amount would be paid within period of six months. Considering these statements made on affidavit and in view of the financial difficulties faced by the Municipal Council, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the Municipal Council to make the balance payment of Rs.2,89,040/- to the petitioner by 31/08/2020. No costs.
