The limited grievance raised in this writ petition is to the effect that from last one year the appeal under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 is pending and there is no decision on the same. 3.

Whereas, the learned AGP points out that on many occasions, the petitioners were absent.

Thereupon, learned counsel for the petitioner points out in reply that on all such occasions since the messages were received from the Collector office on the mobile phone of the petitioner that the Collector is not available, they did not attend the proceedings.

Be that as it may, considering the prayer of the petitioner and fact that appeal is pending since last one year, we are of the opinion that the purpose will be served if the directions are issued to the Collector to decide the appeal within stipulated period.

Accordingly, we dispose of the writ petition with direction to respondent No.1 to decide the Appeal No. 14/Mehkar/2024-2025 expeditiously and in any case within six weeks from the date of appearance of the petitioner. 7.

The petitioners shall appear before the Collector on the next fixed date i.e. on 29.08.2025.

The petitioners undertake to co-operate the Collector to decide the appeal within stipulated period as directed by this Court.
