It is stated on behalf of the petitioners that though the proposal for grant of approval to the promotions of the petitioner nos.1 to 5 was sent to the Education Officer on 21.08.2013 the Education Officer has not decided the proposal till date. It is stated that it would be necessary for the Education Officer to decide the proposal of the petitioners, within a reasonable time. Since the prayer made by the petitioners is innocuous, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the respondent no.3-Education Officer to decide the proposal for grant of approval to the promotions of the respondent nos.1 to 5, if not decided, as early as possible and positively within a period of two months. Order accordingly. No costs.
