The petitioner has filed this petition for grant of emergency parole for attending the last ritual of the paternal uncle of the petitioner.

The learned Counsel for the petitioner has stated that the paternal uncle of the petitioner died on 16.08.2024 and immediately on same date the petitioner has applied for grant of emergency parole, which is not yet decided. The last ritual is on 26.08.2024.

As the application is not yet decided, the direction is given to the Superintendent of Jail to decide the application for emergency parole filed by the petitioner on or before 23.08.2024 strictly as per Rule 19(1) of the Prisons (Bombay Furlough and Parole) Rules, 1959. 5.

In view of the above, the petition stands disposed of.
