DATED : 26-08-2022 The husband of the petitioner died in harness. She preferred application for compassionate appointment. Certain correspondence ensued. On 07-11-2016 the petitioner appeared for the written test/PST/PET and medical. Her candidature was rejected by the Special Recruitment Board on the ground that she was overage.

We note from record that the appropriate authority has issued communication dated 03-3-2017 which informs the petitioner that although her case cannot be considered, other eligible dependent family member shall be considered for appointment on compassionate ground if an appropriate application is submitted to the I.G., Western Sector CRPF, Mumbai/Commandant, 9, Battalion, CRPF.

We are informed by the learned Counsel for the
2 wp6252.19 petitioner Mr. A.P. Raghute that the son of the petitioner is aged 16 years and that an appropriate application shall be preferred as soon as he attains the majority. 4.
The learned Counsel for the respondents assures, on the basis of instructions received, that if on attaining majority the son of the petitioner applies for compassionate appointment, his case shall be considered on its own merit and on the basis of the eligibility standards applicable.

We, therefore, dispose of the petition by issuing directions to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner's son within six months from the date of the petitioner's son preferring application for compassionate appointment.
