DATED : 08/01/2024.
.
Heard.
2.
The petitioner seeks directions for registration of crime in pursuance of his complaint/application made to the police dated 23.09.2022. It is petitioner's grievance that though he has filed written complaint to the police disclosing commission of cognizable offences, however, police have not performed their mandatory duty of registration of crime.
3.
We inquired with the petitioner as to why he has neither reported to Superior Police Officer nor approached to the Magistrate in terms of Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for redressal of his grievance. We are unable to get any convincing reply. 4.
In the circumstances, the petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to take appropriate action as permissible under law.
5.
The petition stands disposed of.
