DATE : 01.10.2016 The matter does not pertain to a decree of divorce and pertains only to the grant of lump sum maintenance. The family Court had directed the appellant to pay lump sum maintenance of Rs.4,00,000/- to the respondent. We have admitted the appeal and have directed the appellant to pay a sum of Rs.4,000/- to the respondent every month during the pendency of this appeal. If an amount of Rs.4,00,000/- is deposited in the fixed deposit, the respondent would have received a sum of Rs.4,000/- per month only. Hence, we are not inclined to hear the matter by fixed date, when several matrimonial matters of young couples, seeking a decree of divorce are pending. The civil application stands rejected.
