It is quite clear that the legal heirs of the applicant/petitioner do have an interest in the social status claimed by the petitioner and, therefore, their right to step into the shoes of the petitioner after his death and continue to prosecute the cause of action to its logical end remains there.

The civil application is, therefore, allowed in terms of prayer clause (1). The legal heirs of the deceased-petitioner be brought on record forthwith. Copy of the amended application be filed on record and it be also furnished to the learned Assistant Government Pleader for respondent No.1 and the learned counsel for respondent Nos.2 and 3.

The civil application stands disposed of.
