This matter pertains to information sought by the respondent No.2 under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (hereinafter referred to as "RTI Act) in respect of third persons more particularly, the salary bills of the employees working in Kesrimal Porwal College, Kamptee.

The respondent No.2 appeared in person and on a specific query that, how he is related with the said college, the reply was that, he made certain complaints against the college. However, he has not pointed out that, there is any direct relation of the respondent No.2 with the said college or the information sought about the employees of the said college is for public purpose or of public importance.

In absence of any satisfactory reply by the respondent No.2 disclosure of such information would cause unwarranted invasion of privacy of that individual. In the circumstances, the impugned order passed by the State Information Commission dated 26.02.2018 directing the petitioners to provide the information to the respondent No.2, is hereby quashed and set aside and the petition is allowed.
