It is the case of the petitioner that he was appointed as Village Development Officer on December 28, 1989 with the respondent no.2Zilla Parishad, Wardha. The petitioner stood superannuated on March 31, 2020 from the post of Agriculture Officer. His contention is that the retirement benefits have been paid to him belatedly though no fault could be found against him. In the aforesaid background, it is claimed that the petitioner is entitled for interest from the respondent no. 2-Zilla Parishad.

Our attention is invited to the representation dated July 31, 2023 which the respondent-Zilla Parishad has not been decided till this date.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader for the respondent no.1 would submit that the Court may pass an appropriate order in the facts and circumstances of the case.

The fact remains that though served none appears on behalf of the respondent no.2-Zilla Parishad, Wardha.

Considering the nature of relief claimed in the petition, we deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition by issuing directions to the respondent no.2-Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Wardha, to decide the representation dated July 31, 2023 based on the grounds raised in the present petition as expeditiously as possible and in any case within a period of twelve weeks from the date of production of copy of this order before him.

With these directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
