The petitioner is a 'Warden' at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Backward Class Boys Hostel, Dharni, Distt. Amravati. The petitioner was under suspension, pending the enquiry against the petitioner, on certain charges. In the enquiry, since the charges were proved, the punishment of withholding of one increment for one year was passed on 20.05.2022. Against the said order of punishment, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the respondent/Chief Secretary on 26.06.2024, which is pending and despite the fact that a period of more than one year is lapsed, there is no decision on the same.

In the light of that, a limited prayer is made in this petition to direct the respondent to decide the appeal expeditiously.

Considering the above referred fact and the fact that though the reasonable period is lapsed, there is no decision by the respondent on the appeal preferred by the petitioner, we are of the opinion that this petition can be disposed of by directing respondent to decide the appeal at the earliest. 5.

Accordingly, we dispose of the writ petition with direction to the respondent-Chief Secretary to decide the appeal preferred by the petitioner within six weeks from the date of appearance of the petitioner.

The petitioner shall appear before the respondent on 25.09.2025 at 11:00 a.m.
