DATE : 24.11.2016 By this petition, the petitioner has challenged the communication of the respondent no.4 - College, dated 15.9.2016 refusing to grant admission to the petitioner to the three years LL.B. Course on the ground that the petitioner does not posses the requisite qualification for admission.

The cut-off date for admission to the LL.B. Course has expired long back and as per the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court, it would not be proper to direct, after the cut-off date, to admit the students in the LL.B. Course, more so, when the examinations of the first semester for the three years LL.B. Course are to commence within a very short time. The relief sought by the petitioner cannot be granted, in the circumstances of the case.

2411wp5943.16.odt The petitioner has also not pointed out that a candidate passing SSC and HSSC examinations through a Distance Education Programme would be entitled for admission to the LL.B. Course. In the absence of any material to point out that the petitioner would be entitled to admission, even if the petitioner has passed the SSC and HSSC examinations through a Distance Education Programme, the relief sought by the petitioner cannot be granted. In the circumstances of the case, we dismiss the writ petition with no order as to costs.
