By this application, the appellants are seeking condonation of delay of 1081 days which is caused in preferring the appeal under Section 14-A of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

Learned Counsel for the appellants submitted that all the appellants are resident of district Muzaffarpur, State of Bihar and their relatives are also resident of Muzaffarpur, State of Bihar. The alleged incident has taken place at Wardha. As the appellants were behind bar, they could not communicate with their relatives, and therefore, none approached to them. Though they have filed an application for grant of bail which was rejected, thereafter also none of the relatives approached to them, and therefore, they could not engaged the Counsel to prefer an appeal.

Considering the reasons mentioned in the application which appears to be just and reasonable, the delay caused in preferring the appeal is hereby condoned. 4.

The application is disposed of.

The appeal be registered.

CRIMINAL APPEAL (ST.) NO.7965 OF 2024 On registration of the appeal, notice be issued to the respondents, returnable after two weeks. 2.
