DATED : AUGUST 26, 2016 By this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for a direction to the Scrutiny Committee to decide her caste claim within a time frame. The petitioner has also sought the protection of her education till her caste claim is decided.

Shri Kadukar, the learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for respondent nos.1 to 3, states that before filing of the present writ petition on 20/10/2015, the original caste certificate was returned to the father of the petitioner on 12/6/2015. It is stated that though the petitioner was informed by the Scrutiny Committee by its communication dated 28/1/2016 that she had not cured the deficiencies, she did not approach the Scrutiny Committee and did not take any steps for

2/3 curing the deficiencies. It is further stated that in view of the aforesaid, the Scrutiny Committee has rejected the caste claim of the petitioner by the order dated 23/5/2016.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader has tendered an affidavit-in-reply on behalf of respondent no.1 in the Court today. The same is accepted on record.

The prayer made in the writ petition is rendered infructuous in view of the subsequent developments. Since the caste claim of the petitioner is rejected by the Scrutiny Committee by the order dated 23/5/2016, the writ petition is disposed of with costs. JUDGE JUDGE khj
