DATE : 18.11.2016 By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction against the respondent - Election Commission to complete the process of registration of the petitioner as a political party, in terms of the application, dated 8.2.2016.
Shri Kasat, the learned Counsel for the respondent - Commission states that the petitioner was informed vide communication dated 8.11.2016 that there was some deficiency in the application made by the petitioner, inasmuch as the petitioner had not tendered the details of the list of 150 members in the electoral roll and had also not supplied a certified copy that the names of the 150 members were included in the electoral roll.
1811wp6077.16.odt Shri Shareef, the learned Counsel for the petitioner states that though the petitioner had supplied the said material to the respondent - Commission, the petitioner would resubmit the same within 10 days so that the respondent - Commission may register the petitioner as as a political party. Shri Kasat, the learned Counsel for the respondent states that if the petitioner cures the deficiency, the Election Commission would take immediate action for the registration of the petitioner as a political party.
In view of the statements recorded herein above, which would be binding on the respective parties, we dispose of the writ petition with no order as to costs.
