2.
On going through both these applications, the impression that one gets is that the intervenors are basically interested in ensuring welfare of dogs and that is something which this Court would also like to do, by striking a balance between the welfare of the human beings and welfare of the stray dogs. In fact, in the earlier order, we had made a beginning in these directions. 3.
We, therefore, allow both these applications. The intervenors be brought on record as respondents. 4.
About the contention of intervenors that some of the stray dogs have been illegally detained and there is a need for issuing a direction to they being released forthwith and further a need for issuing direction to not to repeat the act, Mr. Kasat, learned counsel for the Corporation, on instructions, submits that 24 dogs were detained and now they have been released. About the reason for the detention and the reason for their release, Mr. Kasat, submits that he would seek appropriate instructions and address the court on this aspect, on the next date of hearing.
5.
The Registry is directed to register this petition as public interest litigation.
6.
Steno copy of this order be furnished to the learned counsel for the intervenors and the learned Additional Government Pleader forthwith.
Put up on 23 rd November, 2022 .
