By this petition, the petitioner prays that the disciplinary proceedings be initiated against the Police officers against whom he made complaint of illegal detention and physical torture. The petitioner has also prayed for compensation.

According to the respondents, the concerned Police Officers have taken action as they found that the petitioner was involved in theft and, therefore, he was taken in custody. Admittedly, the prosecution of the petitioner for offence punishable under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code is pending.

1410cwp603.17 Considering the facts of the case, following order is passed :

Rule.

Learned counsel for the respective respondents waive notice.

The trial Court is directed to dispose of Regular Criminal Case No. 371 of 2017 and Regular Criminal Case No. 90 of 2018 till 15.04.2020. List this petition for further consideration/ hearing on 10.06.2020.

CRIMINAL APPLICATION (APPW) NO. 101 OF 2019 AND CRIMINAL APPLICATION (APPW) NO. 226 OF 2017 For the reasons stated in the applications, the prayers made in the applications are granted. Criminal Applications are allowed accordingly.
