The only prayer made by the petitioner in the instant petition is for the direction to the respondent No.2-Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claim of the respondent No.1 as early as possible. Shri D. P. Thakare, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent-Scrutiny Committee, states on instructions that the caste claim of the respondent No.1 is pending and the same would be decided as early as possible. In view of the statement made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the respondent No.2-Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claim of the respondent No.1 within a period of eighteen months. Order accordingly. No costs.
