Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner in the light of the prayers made in the writ petition, we find that a similar challenge was considered in Writ Petition No.4671 of 2023 (Gunwanta s/o Pundlik Kale vs. State of Maharashtra and Ors.) decided on 10.10.2023. After noting that the reservation in the OfÏces of Sarpanch in the District had exceeded 50%, a direction was issued to the Rural Development Department to take necessary steps for complying with the statutory requirements of Section 30(4) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959. We find that the directions issued in the said writ petition would govern the grievance raised by the petitioner in the present writ petition. Hence in view of what has been stated in paragraph 12 of the said decision, this writ petition is disposed of in said terms.
