In the present petition filed as a PIL, the following prayers are made:- "I. Grant permission to initiate this petition as public interest litigation.

II. Issuance of direction, commanding the Respondents to Rectify land records forthwith by, correcting the classification of Survey No. 79 from "Zhudpi Jungle" to its legitimate residential character, and updating all relevant revenue documents (including 7/12 extracts) to reflect the true nature of occupation and development;

III. Issuance of direction, commanding the Respondents to Commence regularization proceedings by framing and implementing a time-bound scheme for regularization of existing dwellings; and completing the entire process within a strict outer limit of six months from the date of this Court's order;

IV. ....."

Considering the prayer Clauses and issue raised in the petition, we are of the opinion that it would be

2 50) PIL 71-2025.odt appropriate to dispose of the present petition with direction to the respondent no. 1 - Collector to treat this petition as a representation made by the petitioner and take a decision on the same in a time-bound manner. 3.

Accordingly, we dispose of the petition with direction to respondent no. 1-Collector to treat this petition as a representation made by the petitioner and decide the same within a period of ten weeks from today. 4.

The learned counsel for the petitioners undertakes to submit a complete copy of this petition with the copy of this order to the Collector within a period of one week.
