The petitioner was appointed as a Law Officer of Class-II Post in Municipal Corporation, Amravati filed the present petition seeking direction to the Municipal Corporation, Amravati to consider his application / representation dated 4th July, 2024 for filling up the post of Chief Law Officer (I) in the Amravati Municipal Corporation by Departmental Committee as expeditiously as possible. 3.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent Municipal Corporation made a statement in paragraph 7 of his affidavit that the proposal was not forwarded to the departmental promotion committee, in view of parliamentary election in the year 2024. However, now same is in the process of forwarding to Departmental Promotion Committee and accordingly will take appropriate decision in respect of post of Chief Law Officer (Class-I) from amongst the employees fulfilling requisite criteria including the petitioner, in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.

In view of the prayer made by the petitioner and affidavit filed by the respondent nos. 2 and 3, it will be appropriate to direct the respondent no.2 to consider the representation dated 4th July, 2024 of the petitioner and complete the entire procedure of filing up the post of Chief Law Officer (I) in Amravati Municipal Corporation within a period of two months from today.
