ATE : FEBRUARY 06 , 202 The prayer of the petitioners - Management, who runs the senior college i.e. petitioner No. 2, is for admission of the said institution to grant-in-aid, in terms of the Government policy.

The respondent-Joint Director of Higher Education has filed reply on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 and 2 and in paragraph No. 9 has stated as under.
"9. It is further submitted that as per the report submitted by the respondent No. 2 - The Director, Department of Higher Education, Pune, the remarks are given that as certified by the concerned University, 'Vimaltai Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Taluka Sawali, District Chandrapur run by petitioner No. 1 society presently complies with the norms of strength of students of the college as laid down in the Belkhede
2 10a&10bwp468.2020..odt Government Resolution dated 29.12.1999 required for sanctioning and extending grant-inaid to the petitioner No. 2 college. It is further submitted that in view of the report of respondent No. 2 - Director, Higher Education, Maharashtra State Pune, the process of examining the matter at the Government level for taking appropriate action is going on."

The said reply is placed on record on 6.1.2021. 4.
The aforesaid stand of the respondent as State Government is based on the outbreak of Covid-2019 pandemic at the relevant time and the restrictions on expenditure as has been imposed vide Government Resolution dated 4.5.2020.

Now, much water has flown after the reply dated 6.1.2021 is placed on record.

As such, it was expected from the respondent - State Government to take decision on the issue of release of grant in favour of the petitioner - institution. 7.
That being so, we direct the State Government to take appropriate decision in view of the stand taken by it as reflected hereinabove, and in any case, within eight weeks from today.

Accordingly, petition stands disposed of.
