By this writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction against the respondent-Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner, within a time frame. The petitioner seeks a direction against the respondent No.2 to protect the services of the petitioner, till his caste claim is decided.

Mrs.Prabhu, the learned Assistant Government appearing for the respondent-Scrutiny Committee, states that the caste claim of the petitioner is pending and the same would be decided as early as possible.

Since the caste claim of the petitioner is pending, the petitioner cannot be blamed for not producing the caste validity certificate. The services of the petitioner are required to be protected till his caste claim is decided.

Hence, the writ petition is allowed. The respondent No.1Scrutiny Committee is directed to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within fifteen months. The respondent No.2 is directed to protect the services of the petitioner till his caste claim is decided. Order accordingly. No costs.
