Heard.

The prayer is for grant of extension for a period of 2-3 months to comply with the order dated 08/08/2024 passed by this Court in Writ Petition No.201/2024.

This Court vide said order dated 08/08/2024 has directed respondent Nos.2 to 5 to the said petition to report compliance of the order of the Tribunal within a period of eight weeks by way of last chance.

There is no convincing reason cited in the application justifying a prayer for extension of further 2-3 months for compliance. The only reason cited is ensuing Assembly elections.

We hardly see such reason being germane to be the cause for seeking extension of time.

The approach on the part of the applicants seeking extension is not only malafide but also to evade statutory responsibility. 7.

That being so, the application stands rejected with costs of Rs.5000/- to be paid by the Deputy Forest Conservator Officer, Division Wadsa, Gadchiroli and the Assistant Conservator of Forest, Wadsa, Dist.

Costs be paid to the original petitioner within a period of two weeks from today and acknowledgment thereof be placed on record accordingly.

We make it clear that the original petitioner shall be at liberty to proceed with contempt proceedings.
