It is not in dispute that the petitioner was convicted for the offence punishable under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code on 13.1.2011 and was sentenced to suffer life imprisonment. The petitioner was released on furlough leave of 15 days on 31.3.2011. The petitioner did not report to prison after completion of the period of leave, but was required to be arrested on 16.11.2013 i.e. after 917 days. The offence under Section 224 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against him and conviction was recorded for the same on 15.4.2016.

In the facts and circumstances of this case, we do not find that the petitioner is entitled to any discretionary relief by this Court. Hence, the petition is dismissed. No order as to costs.
