CRIMINAL APPLICATION (APPR) NO.217 OF 2024 5.

Heard rival submissions. It appears that the applicant has been convicted for the offence under Section 494 of the Indian Penal Code only and sentenced to suffer simple imprisonment for one year and to pay fine of Rs.2,000/- in default to suffer simple imprisonment for three months, in Regular Criminal Case No.72 of 2001. Further the appeal, bearing Criminal Appeal No.21 of 2014 preferred by the applicant-accused against the aforesaid conviction is also dismissed and therefore, the applicant-accused is taken in custody. However, it seems that during pendency of the THAWRE

trial as well as appeal, the applicant was on bail. 6.

As such, the substantive sentence of imprisonment as mentioned above is suspended during pendency of this revision application and the applicant be released on P.R. Bond of Rs.25,000/- with one solvent surety in the like amount.

Bail before the learned trial Court.
