The applicant is arrested in connection with Crime No.37/2017 registered by the non-applicant against four persons (including the applicant) for the offence punishable under Sections 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.
On the complaint lodged by the Manager of the State Bank of India, M.I.D.C. Branch, Chandrapur that the accused had presented three cheques worth Rs.92,00,000/- for encashment, but the bank officials doubted the genuineness of the high value cheques and contacted the drawer i.e. officials of General Post Office, Kolkata, who informed the complainant that the cheques were not issued by them.
The application is opposed on the ground that Crime N0.22/2017 is registered against the applicant at
2 ba917.18 Sirpur police station, Tq. Wani, Distt. Yavatmal, Crime No.175/2017 is registered against the applicant at Chakan police station, Pune for similar offences. Considering the facts of the case on record and the antecedents of the applicant, I am not inclined to grant the prayer made in this application. The application is dismissed.
