By this writ petition, the petitioner has sought a direction against the respondents to forward the caste/tribe claims of the employees that are appointed on the posts reserved for the scheduled tribes, for verification to the competent caste scrutiny committee and take appropriate action after the scrutiny committee decides the caste claims.

Mrs. Anjali Joshi, the learned counsel for the respondents has tendered the reply in the court today. The same is accepted on record. It is stated that the respondents have realised that it would be necessary for the respondent no.2 to send the caste claims/certificates of the employees that are appointed on the posts reserved for the scheduled tribes to the competent caste scrutiny committee for verification. It is stated in the reply that the caste claims of such employees that are appointed on the posts reserved for the scheduled tribes would be sent to the respective scrutiny committees within a short time. On a reading of the statement in the reply tendered in the court today, we find that the grievance of the petitioner should stand redressed.

2 wp275.16.odt Hence, by accepting the statement made on behalf of the respondent no.2 in the reply that would be binding on the respondent no.2, we dispose of the writ petition, with no order as to costs.
