The present matter pertains to crop loan suppsoed to be disbursed in the year 2018. The challenge was raised to the directions issued by the Divisional Joint Registrar under Section 79(2) of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 to disburse the crop loan to certain persons as directed by the local MLA.

This matter is covered by the judgment of the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court dated 7th July, 2022 passed in Writ Petition No. 6086 of 2017 (Aniruddha Subhanrao Deshmukh and others Vs. The State of Maharashtra, through the Secretary, Department of Co-operation and Textiles, Mantralaya, SKNair

41-wp-6658-18.odt Mumbai-400 032 and others) under Section 79(2) of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 holding that the Divisional Joint Registrar cannot issue such directions.

For the above reasons and for the reason that by the passage of time, the matter has become infructuous, the writ petition is disposed of as infructuous.
