RULE. Rule made returnable forthwith and heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for the respondent nos.1 and 2.

The petitioner-Society seeks issuance of Letter of Intent to enable it conduct courses in Social Welfare for the Academic Session 2022-23. Pursuant to the advertisement dated 23.04.2022, the petitioner had made the requisite application with the respondent no.3-University. The aforesaid application was considered by the University and by communication dated 30.05.2022, various proposals were forwarded to the respondent no.1Department of Higher and Technical Education for consideration of issuance of Letter of Intent. Since no steps have been taken thereafter, the present writ petition has been filed.

Since the University has forwarded the proposal of the petitioner alongwith various other proposals to the respondent no.1, it would be necessary for the said respondent to consider these proposals in accordance with law and take a decision as to whether Letter of Intent can be issued or not. Accordingly, the respondent no.1 is directed to take a decision on the proposal dated 30.05.2022 pertaining to the petitioner's request for starting courses in Social Welfare. Decision thereon be taken within a period of six weeks of receiving the copy of this order. The decision taken be communicated to the petitioner.

With these directions, the writ petition is disposed of. Rule accordingly. No costs.
