This Court on 29.07.2019 in Writ Petition No.2068/2019 had directed the present respondent nos. 1 and 2 to pay pension and pensionary benefits to the petitioner within a period of three months from the date of the order. That period of three months expired on 28.10.2019 and the pension and pensionary benefits have been paid to the petitioner on 11.11.2020.

Shri P.S.Patil, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be entitled to receive interest on account of belated payment of pension and other benefits.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader for the respondents submits that the order dated 29.07.2019 was challenged before the Hon'ble Supreme Court by filing Special Leave Petition on 10.01.2020. This Special Leave Petition was dismissed on 17.02.2020.

4.CP326.19.odt 2 Considering the nature of directions issued in the Writ Petition No.2068/2019, it is open for the petitioner to claim interest for the belated payment of pensionary benefits in accordance with law. The contempt petition is accordingly disposed of.
