Mr. M. K. Pathan, learned A.P.P. informed that copy of the application is already served on the original petitioner and on the last date of hearing the original petitioner is already appeared online in person. 3.

The prayer in the application is for grant of further extension of six months from 22.11.2024 to report compliance of the judgment and order dated 10.11.2023 passed in Criminal Writ Petition No.759/2022 viz-a-viz the order dated 14.03.2024 passed by this Court in Criminal Application (APPW) No.38/2024 and the order dated 14.06.2024 passed by this Court in Criminal Application (APPW) No.84/2024.

The fact remains that the Collector has already consumed time of about one year from the date of the judgment and has not complied with the order referred above.

This Court has twice granted an extension in the matter.

We are informed that the S.L.P. is yet to be listed, which is preferred against the original order passed in Writ Petition wherein directions are issued in the Writ Petition to take decision on the relief claimed by the petitioner in the representation dated 12.04.2022. 7.

The applicant - the District Magistrate is required to take the decision on the issues of losses suffered by the victim under the provisions of the Prevention of the Atrocities Act.

The only convincing reason in the application in support of the prayer for the extension appears to be that of the District Magistrate being preoccupied in conducting the Legislative Assembly Elections which perhaps will be over by 23.11.2024 as the voting is already concluded on 20.11.2024.

In this view of the matter, we deem it appropriate to grant by way of last chance extension of eight weeks. It is made clear that no further extension will be granted.
