Mr. N.S. Rao, the learned AGP has handed over copy of the affidavit dated 21.2.2023, which is taken on record. 3.

The grievance of the petitioner in brief is as follows: The petitioner completed SSC and HSSC and thereafter vocational training from Government Industrial Training Institute, Deulgaon Raja. In the concerned certificates, the name of the petitioner is mentioned as Sayyed Parvez Sayyed Naseem. However, in

some of the certificates, the name Sayyed is referred as "Say" which expression is ordinarily used as an abbreviation. 4.

The petitioner is selected by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation ("MMRC") as Technician Fitter. The petitioner was asked to submit the documents for verification. After scrutinizing the documents, the MMRC informed the petitioner that while he is provisionally selected for appointment as Technician Fitter, the name in the educational certificates and the Aadhar Card and the Domicile Certificate do not tally. The petitioner accordingly approached respondent 5 - Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad, Buldhana seeking correction of name in the general registrar of the Zilla Parishald School maintained by respondents 6 and 7. This application is rejected vide order dated 30.11.2022 on the ground that after a student leaves/passes out from the educational institution, the name in the record cannot be corrected.

While the stand is reiterated in the affidavit in response filed by the Education Officer, after revisiting the issue, the learned AGP Mr. N.S. Rao, concedes on the basis of instructions received that the name can be corrected as prayed.

We direct the petitioner to appear before respondent 5 - Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad, Buldhana on 27.2.2023 at 11.00 a.m. along with the relevant documents. After hearing the petitioner, an appropriate order shall be passed by respondent 5 on the same day.
