A simpliciter prayer to expedite Special Case (ACB) No. 3/2016 has been made by one of the accused. It has been submitted that though charges were framed on 06.01.2018, there is no progress at all. We have called the report of the Trial Court to understand the reasons and difficulties faced for conducting the trial.

The Trial Court has stated as to how the case has not been commenced for earlier two years and then by COVID-19 pandemic situation. In substance, the learned Trial Court has commenced recording of evidence of first witness on 06.02.2023 and in quick sessions, he has kept the date and the evidence is in progress. Besides that, the learned Sessions Judge has placed some other difficulties as to how he is over burden by various time bound matters.

In view of above, we hereby request the Trial Court to expedite the trial and make every endevour to

2 27wp55.23 dispose the case within six months from the date of communication of this order.

Petition stands disposed of in above terms.
