By this petition, the petitioner had sought a direction to the State Government to decide the proposal made by the petitioner on 31/10/2013 for starting new courses of Bachelor of Science and Master of Commerce (English Medium) in Shri Shriram Arts, Commerce and Science College at Morshi.

Shri Dharmadhikari, the learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for the respondent No.1, states that the proposal of the petitioner was rejected by the State Government and the University was directed to inform the petitioner about the decision. It is stated that there were certain deficiencies in the proposal of the petitioner and hence the proposal was rejected. It is further stated that if the petitioner is desirous of applying for permission from the Academic Session 2017-18, the petitioner is free to so apply and the application of the petitioner would be considered, in accordance with law. Shri Thakare, the learned counsel for the petitioner, states that the petitioner would make a fresh application as per Section 82 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994 to the University for permission

wp681.15 2/2 to start new courses from the Academic Session 2017-18 so that the University may again sent it to the State Government for approval. In view of the aforesaid, we dispose of the writ petition with no order as to costs. The points raised in the petition are kept open.
