The Advocate for the contemnor has handed over cheque of 50% backwages as directed by this Court. In Misc. Civil Application No.1160/2017, this Court today modified the order to the extent of paying interest @9% per annum from the date of order till 25.07.2019.

In that view of the matter, the Advocate for the contemnor makes a statement that he will pay the interest @9% per annum on arrears of backwages from the date of order till 25.07.2019 within period of two weeks. 3.

His statement is accepted.

Contempt Petition stands disposed of. In case the amount is not paid, the petitioner is at liberty to file appropriate application.
