Heard learned counsel for the petitioners.

According to him, his claim for grant of compassionate appointment, though pending before the Gram Panchayat, Asegaon Purna, Tq. Chandur Bazar, District Amravati, has still not been decided.

He further invited our attention to the communication dated 19/06/2023 issued by the Block Development Officer, Panchayat Samiti, Chandur Bazar.

Be that as it may, since issue is already pending before the Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat Asegaon, the same can be taken to its logical end in view of the Government Resolution dated 21/09/2017, as well as the judgment passed in Writ Petition No. 3701 of 2022 decided on 11/10/2024 (Kalpana wd/o Vilas Taram and another Vs The State of Maharashtra, through its Secretary, Mantralaya of Social Welfare, Mantralaya, Mumbai-32 and others).

In view of the aforesaid judgment, we direct the Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat Asegaon, District Amravati, to decide the petitioner's claim in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of this order. The decision taken be communicated to the petitioner within two weeks thereafter.
