The petitioner, who is sentenced to suffer life imprisonment, surrendered late by 1544 days, when he was lastly released on parole leave on 5.1.2010. The petitioner was required to be arrested and offence under Section 224 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against him. The petitioner is, since thereafter, in prison from 28.6.2014.

The application now filed by the petitioner for grant of furlough leave has been rejected by order dt.4.9.2017. We do not find any reason to interfere in the order impugned in this petition. However, we would like to make it clear that the petitioner shall be at liberty to file such application after undergoing imprisonment for a period of 1544 days from 28.6.2014, which shall be considered in accordance with law. The petition is
