The applicant is arrested in connection with Crime No.670/2017 registered with Police Station, Saoli, Dist. Chandrapur for an offence punishable under Section 65(e), (f), (b), (c) of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act. 3.

The applicant is arrested on 28.10.2017 and since then she is in jail. According to the prosecution case, on 28.10.2017, a secret information was received by Police Station, Saoli and accordingly the applicant was found in possession of Mahua liquor worth Rs.4,000/- and raw Mahua worth Rs.40,000/-. The contraband is already seized by the police and the applicant is in jail since 28.10.2017. The learned A.P.P. submits that the investigation is on the verge of completion and only the formality of filing of the charge-sheet is remained to be done.

In that view of the matter, I am of the opinion that further custodial presence of the applicant is not necessary. Hence, following order is passed.

ORDER

(i) Criminal Application No.1225/2017 is allowed.

(ii) The applicant-Sau. Seema w/o Kirsan Thayye, be released on bail in connection with Crime No.670/2017 registered with Police Station, Saoli, Dist. Chandrapur for an offence punishable under Section 65(e), (f), (b), (c) of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act on she executing P.R. Bond in the sum of Rs.5,000/- with one solvent surety in the like amount.

The application stands disposed of.
