2. The learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner who is present in Court seeks permission to withdraw the petition with a request that the proceedings in the Rent Control Case may be expedited.

3. I find that the proceedings are initiated by the petitioner as far back as in the year 1991 and earlier also in Writ petition no.588/2010 by order dated 14/9/2010 the proceedings were expedited. In the meantime there was an amendment to the Goa, Buildings (Lease, Rent and Eviction) Control Act,1968 by which the jurisdiction was

WP/130/2016 transferred from the Rent Controller to the Civil Court. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Rent Control case is fixed for arguments of the parties. In such circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of as withdrawn. The Trial Court shall decide the proceedings as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of three months from the receipt of this order. C. V. BHADANG, J.
