Heard Shri Gaurang Panandiker, the learned Counsel for the petitioners in both these petitions. Shri D. Pangam, the learned Advocate General appears for the respondents along with Shri Sagar Dhargalkar, the learned Additional Government Advocate for the
respondents.

Shri Panandiker, on the basis of instructions, states that the petitioners, for the present, will be satisfied if their representations, which are to be found at page 41 in each of the petitions, are disposed of by the Commissioner of Excise to whom they have been addressed within a time bound schedule, on their own merits and in accordance with law. 3.
Shri Panandiker points out that such representations were made on 27/05/2019 and 18/04/2019, respectively. He points out that till date the representations have not been disposed of. 4.
The learned Advocate General submits that the Commissioner of Excise has called upon the petitioners to furnish certain documents/information, which is yet to be furnished by the petitioners. He states that once these documents/information is furnished, the Commissioner of Excise will dispose of these representations in accordance with law and on their own merits within a period of eight weeks.

Shri Panandiker, on instructions, states that the documents/information will be furnished to the Commissioner of Excise within two weeks from today. Accordingly, by accepting the statement of the learned Advocate General, we direct the Commissioner of Excise to
dispose of the representations within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of documents/information from the petitioners. 6.
Both the petitions are accordingly disposed of in the aforesaid terms. There shall be no order as to costs. All concerned to act on the basis of authenticated copy of this order.
