1. An application is filed on behalf of the Applicant for compounding of the offence with regard to the cheque amount, together with the compensation awarded by the Court and the amount of 15% of the cheque as per Damodar S. Prabhu Versus Sayed Babalal H. reported in (2010) 5 SCC 663 is paid/deposited.

2. The accountant Mr. Babulal Sangodkar of the Respondent No. 1 is present in person and informs the Court that the amount is received by the Society and the Respondent No. 1 is not having any objection for compounding the offence.

3. The Applicant has also deposited the amount of Rs. 8700/- (Rupees Eight Thousand Seven Hundred only) with the Registrar (Judicial) of this Court with appropriate compliance. Such amount needs to be transferred to the Goa State Legal Services Authority as per the direction of the Apex Court in Damodar S. Prabhu.

4. In view of the application filed which is not objected to by the Respondent No. 1, permission is granted to compound the said offence. Accordingly, the impugned sentence awarded by the Trial Court stands quashed and set aside. Therefore, the parties are allowed to compound the said offence.

5. For the reasons disclosed above, the present application stands disposed of in the above terms.
