Based on the material placed before us in this petition, we do not think that we can accede to the petitioner's request that his matter should be given a priority.

We agree with the learned Counsel for the petitioner that all criminal matters must be disposed of expeditiously. However, when it comes to according a priority or issuing directions for expedition in a particular matter, we will have to consider the position of the docket, the infrastructure available and other such matters. The pleadings in this petition are quite sketchy and based upon the same we do not think that any case is made out for grant of priority or out of turn hearing. 4.

Therefore, we dismiss this petition, but we grant the petitioner liberty to apply to the Sessions Court to seek expedition.
