After hearing the learned Counsel for the petitioner, we are satisfied that the present petition can be disposed of by requesting the respondent no.2 to decide the application under Section 66(5) of The Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, within a period of eight weeks from today.

2. Learned Counsel for the petitioner pointed out that the application is in any case kept for orders. It is one of the grievance of the learned Counsel for the petitioner that even without hearing the petitioner, the 6th February, 2025

WP 591 of 2023 matter is closed for orders. If that is so, it is always open for the petitioner to bring these aspects to the notice of the respondent no.2 by way of appropriate application. So far as the present petition is concerned, suffice it to observe, that the application be decided at the earliest in accordance with law.
