Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Advocate General.
2. It appears that the application made by the petitioner for release of his vehicle, on 27/10/2017 is pending. It appears from the averments made in the petition that the vehicle was seized under Rule 62 of the Goa Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1960. The said Rule provides for an application in case the owner seeks release thereof.
3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we
WP/260/2018 are of the opinion that the Competent Officer should decide the application within a reasonable time.
4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent No.1 to decide the application made by the petitioner within a period of 10 weeks from today, on its own merits.
