WP-280-24 We have heard the learned Counsel for the parties. In our judgment, this matter can be disposed of by permitting the Petitioner to file a fresh application for transfer of house tax in his name. Such 2nd April 2024

WP-280-24 an application should be accompanied by necessary documents, including affidavits of the other co-owners. If such an application is made, the Village Panchayat of St. Lawrence should dispose of the application within a maximum of 4 (four) weeks from the date of its receipt. The Panchayat must, within the four weeks, communicate its decision to the Petitioner.

If the Panchayat requires any additional documents or some clarification, the Panchayat must call the Petitioner for a hearing and give him an opportunity to produce such documents or furnish such clarification. The Panchayat should not be influenced by its Resolution dated 18/4/2023.
