2. This is an application seeking stay of the proceedings before the Reference Court initiated by the applicants under Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894. It is the contention of Mr. Usgaonkar, learned counsel appearing for the applicants that the Writ Petition filed by the applicants is inter-alia to contend that the proceedings under the Land Acquisition Act have lapsed and as such according to him as the Writ Petition has already been admitted, it would be appropriate in the interest of justice to stay further
CA/35/2015 proceedings before the Reference Court.
3. Mr. V. Rodrigues, learned Addl. Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submits to the orders of this Court.
4. In the facts and circumstances of the case, as the subject acquisition proceedings in the reference under Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act are under challenge before this Court, it would be appropriate in the interest of justice to stay further proceeding in Land Acquisition No.28/2010 pending before the learned District Judge-1, North Goa, Panaji until further orders.
5. The application stands disposed of accordingly.
