1. A petition was filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus for initiation of immediate action in respect of illegal construction of respondent no. 7 on the Candolim-Aguada Public Road. A direction was sought to seal the illegal structure abutting survey no. 77/0 of Village Candolim.

2. During the pendency of the petition, on 11/04/2025, Village Panchayat Candolim has issued a show cause notice under Section 66(3) of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 to respondent no. 7 who is 21st April, 2025

WP 108 of 2025 represented by Mr. Nadkarni. He submits that the notice was received by him on 17/04/2025 and since he is given 15 days to submit his reply/say in the matter, wherein it shall deserve due consideration from the Panchayat, he shall ensure the necessary compliance. Accepting the show cause notice on record and by marking the same as 'X' for identification, according to us, the petition has served its purpose, as the action is already initiated against respondent no. 7 who according to the petitioner is an encroacher.

3. We expect the Village Panchayat Candolim to take the show cause notice proceedings to its logical end after following the principles of natural justice within an expeditious manner.

4. In the wake of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of. NIVEDITA P. MEHTA, J.
