Heard Mr. Raunaq Rao, learned counsel for the Petitioner, Mr. Sagar Dhargalkar, learned Additional Government Advocate for Respondent Nos. 1 to 5 and Mr. G. Agni, learned counsel for Respondent No.7.

For the order which we propose to make, notice to Respondent No.6 is not necessary.

The Petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of his complaint to

2 WP221-20 dt.11.01.2021 Respondent No.3 and the proceedings pending before the Respondent No.4 in the matter of certain constructions/activities undertaken by Respondent No.7, which according to the Petitioner are illegal and unauthorized.

Mr. Dhargalkar, learned Additional Government Advocate states that the Deputy Director of Panchayats i.e. Respondent No.4 has already fixed the matter for oral arguments and will dispose of the proceedings before him as expeditiously as possible and in any case within a period of eight weeks from today. This statement is accepted and the Deputy Director of Panchayats is directed to dispose of the proceedings before him accordingly.

Similarly, Mr. Dhargalkar states that the Town and Country Planning Department will dispose of the Petitioner's complaint with regard to the hill cutting by adverting to the provisions of Section 17A of Goa Town and Country Planning Act, 1974 as expeditiously as possible and in any case within a period of eight weeks from today. This statement is also accepted and the concerned Authorities are directed to act accordingly.

Needless to mention that the Authorities will have to act in accordance with law and even comply with the principles of natural justice and fair play.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. There shall be no order as to costs.
