After these matters were heard for considerable amount of time and even before the hearings could conclude, the learned Advocate General, based on the decision of the Government, makes the following statements:- 9th March 2022

905 WP 140 of 2021.doc (i) That insofar as Writ Petition No.151/2021 is concerned, the candidates on the wait-list, including the Petitioner Dr. Shreyas Naik, will now be appointed to the post of Senior Resident of the concerned speciality, against the vacancies that have now arisen.

(ii) That insofar as the Petitioner in Writ Petition No.140/2021 is concerned, the learned Advocate General states that even this Petitioner is on the wait-list for appointment as Senior Resident in Oral Medicine and Radiology. He, however, states that at present, there is no vacancy in this speciality. He further states that a decision has now been taken to create a supernumerary post against which even this Petitioner can be appointed as a Senior Resident. He, accordingly, states that even this Petitioner will be appointed as Senior Resident in the above speciality. 2.

The learned Counsel for the Petitioners are satisfied with the decision of the Government and the statements now made by the learned Advocate General. They, however, submit that some outer time-line be fixed for issuance of actual appointment orders.

Now that the Government has already taken a decision, we think that the necessary appointment orders in terms of the same should be issued within four weeks from today.

The Petitioners now request that these petitions be disposed of. Accordingly, these petitions are disposed of. 5.
